Kentucky LIHEAP assists eligible Kentucky residents and families with their heating and cooling costs, often through direct payments to utility companies on their behalf.

LIHEAP home heating program has two main components: Subsidy and Crisis. When funds are available, a third component to help with summer cooling costs may be offered.

Fall Subsidy: The application period runs from November 3, 2025, until December 12, 2025. Applications are on a first-come, first-served basis through local Community Action Agencies.

Crisis Component: This component, which helps with emergency situations, typically opens in early January and closes around March 15, 2026 or once funds are exhausted
